2025 Shop with a Cop
Cedar City
This year Shop with a cop was a huge success thanks to the generous donations of time and resources from Walmart, the Elks Lodge, Iron County School District employees and many others who combined their time and talents to make Christmas special for children in our community. We had 97 Officers, 103 children, and over 50 volunteers participate in this years event.
Davis County
Davis County FOP held a very successful Cops & Kids event on December 6th, 2025. After a wonderful breakfast at Applebees in Layton, Officers drove with their children to the Clinton Walmart where children were able to buy gifts for themselves and family members. We had 90 officers, 75 children, and 50 volunteers involved.

Our annual Shop with a Cop event once again took place this year, and we were honored to serve 85 children from throughout Carbon County. This event would not be possible without the incredible support of our community and the countless donations we received. We are also deeply grateful for the generous support of our sponsors and would like to thank the management and staff at Walmart, Price McDonaldโs, USU Eastern Dining Services, the Utah Police Civilian Association, and all participating agencies for making this event possible.
The event was held on December 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center on the campus of Utah State University-Eastern, where the kids and officers enjoyed a breakfast generously donated by Price McDonaldโs. Officers and children had the opportunity to mingle and take photos before loading into patrol vehicles and traveling in a makeshift parade to Walmart, where each child had the opportunity to truly โShop with a Cop.โ
This yearโs participating agencies included the Price City Police Department, Carbon County Sheriffโs Office, Helper City Police Department, Wellington City Police Department, East Carbon City Police Department, Adult Probation and Parole, Utah Highway Patrol, Utah State University Eastern Police Department, Department of Public Safety Dispatch, and the Utah State University POST Academy.
This event is always one of the highlights of the year for our officers, and we hope the selected children and their families had a wonderful experience and created lasting memoriesโwe know our officers certainly did. From out homes to yours, the Price City Police Department would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.
Respectfully,
Sergeant Kelly Maynes – Price City Police Department

This year we had 45 officers, 48 children, and around 55 volunteers involved.
We were able to facilitate the participation of three special needs kids for our 2025 event. We worked directly with their parents to find officers that had connections with the child or that were willing to help.
Our local EMS and Fire volunteers come and wrap the gifts for the kids. They love it and the officers love having lots of volunteers to wrap. Makes the event run so much better. They even bring their rigs for the kids to check out.
Spanish Fork
This year we had 125 officers, 125 children, and 15 volunteers involved.

This year we were able to help more families than ever before! We had 80 officers, 75 children, and 40 outstanding volunteers involved. The experience for the children and officers was outstanding and the event was a great success. We look forward to next year and adding more families to the list.
2024 Shop with a Cop
Davis County
This year, with the help of UCPA, the Davis County Fraternal Order of Police were able to hold another successful Cops and Kids Event. The event began at Texas Roadhouse in West Bountiful where 75 children were accommodated with breakfast and the opportunity to sit with a law enforcement officer. Just over 80 Davis County FOP members showed their support and service as each child was assigned an officer. Following breakfast, Officers drove their assigned children to the Walmart in Centerville where each child was able to shop for Christmas gifts. Our hearts are always touched as these selfless children begin grabbing items for their entire family, not just themselves. With the help of UCPA, Officers, family members, Texas Roadhouse, donors, and community members, over 100 volunteers came together to provide Christmas gifts to families that otherwise would have nothing.
Thank you so much for all you do for our community and especially the Davis County FOP lodge. We could not be more grateful.

Our annual Shop with a Cop event took place on Saturday, December 21, 2024. We started off our day meeting at Jennifer Leavitt Student CenterโEastern where a breakfast was donated by McDonalds.
The kids had a moment to sit and talk with officers and then were loaded up in patrol vehicles where a parade of sorts followed from USU-Eastern through Price to Walmart with the kids in full control of the lights, sirens, and PA Systems.
Once at Walmart, the kids, their family members, and officers began the fun of shopping. Many tears of joy were shared with a lot of officers fighting back emotions.
Our annual Shop with a Cop event envelopes law enforcement agencies from throughout Carbon County to include the Price City Police Department, the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, the Wellington City Police Department, the Helper City Police Department, the East Carbon City Police Department, the Utah Highway Patrol, Adult Probation and Parole, and USU-E Police Department.
This year we were able to help more kids than ever, including several children with severe health issues who, without the program, would have had nothing this holiday season. This year we also had two families that could not attend on the 21st, so officers make arrangements to take the kids on a separate day and created a special event for them and their families.
We could not have done this without the donations and involvement of Utah Police Civilian Association, Walmart, McDonalds, Utah State UniversityโEasern’s dining services, Bethel 3 Jobs Daughters International, the Elks Lodge of Price, Kamatsu Mining Corp., the Hope Squad of Carbon and Emory County, Peczuh Printing, Pierce Oil, Utah Mine Workers Association, Cody Westenskow, Castleview Hospital, Mitchell’s Mortuary, Sitterud Law, Cache Valley Bank, Utah Power Credit Union, Swanson Industries, and the numerous community donations.

This year we were able to sponsor 25 children, thanks in part to the generous donation from UPCA. The children chosen to participate were so great, they were shy, funny, wild, sweet, happyโฆ just a wide range of emotions. They, along with their parents, were very grateful for this opportunity.
Miss Utah Teen Volunteer, Haivyn Pitchforth, volunteered her time to attend our event and hand out filled stockings to the participating children and to other children at Walmart. We also had 13 law enforcement spouses help with the shopping.
